AI-Powered Metadata at Scale: What We Built and Why It Matters

We built a Google Apps Script metadata generator that integrates directly with a client's site data. Here's how it works:

  1. We load a 16-column spreadsheet with URL, target keyword, current title, current meta, and page content
  2. The script crawls each live URL to pull current on-page content
  3. Claude AI generates an optimized title tag, meta description, and H1 for every URL using our documented ruleset
  4. Output is formatted as a Google Doc and emailed directly to the client for review

The Rules That Make It Work

The output is only as good as the rules behind it. Ours are explicit:

  • Primary keyword appears verbatim in the title tag
  • Colon separator between keyword phrase and brand context
  • Brand suffix formatted as | Brand Name
  • H1 matches the title tag minus the brand suffix
  • Geo included as City, ST only where locally relevant
  • No em dashes, no keyword stuffing, no generic filler

Every output is auditable. If a title tag doesn't follow the rules, we see it immediately. The system produces consistent, implementation-ready metadata at a pace no manual process can match.

Real-World Impact

For one home services client, we rewrote metadata across 140 service pages in a single sprint. Within 60 days, organic impressions on those pages increased by over 30%. Click-through rates improved across the board because the titles were specific, keyword-accurate, and readable.
