In a previous post, I mentioned that starting July 10, 2025 IG posts and photos will be featured in Google’s SERPs. This is big news for SEO because it opens up another channel for optimizations.
As of July 2025, some of the top social media sites listed in Google were YouTube, LinkedIn, and Reddit - and now, we can add Instagram to that list.

I’ve covered AI Search in detail in previous posts, so I won’t go into too much detail again here. In context to Cross Channel Marketing however, I will say this.
Traditionally, a zero-click search refers to when a search engine answers a user's query directly on the results page, eliminating the need to click through to a website. Think - “what’s the temperature in Phoenix?” or “how to say marketing in Spanish”. More recently, it’s been referred to as anything from Google’s AI Overviews or results in ChatGPT, Gemini, etc. that also reduce the need for clicks.
Indeed, it is more convenient for the user but also causes a drop in clicks to any site referenced in AI Overviews. Optimizing for AI Search then becomes a top priority in your SEO strategies in 2025 and beyond.
While ranking in Google/Bing remains relevant, it’s important - now more than ever, to expand marketing efforts beyond the reach of Google. The traditional focus of SEO has always been optimizing websites for search engine results such as Google or Bing. However, today’s digital landscape requires a more diverse approach.
